Vocational Spotlight: Garrett Williams

Garrett WilliamsGarrett Williams is a Macon Rotary member and Scout Executive and CEO of the Central Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America. Scouting’s objectives are to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices; and to develop character, citizenship training, and personal fitness.

The Central Georgia Council is recognized as a national quality council and provides leadership and character based education opportunities to over 65,000 young men and women ages 5 -20 in 24 central Georgia counties. Since taking over the helm in the Central Georgia Council in September of 2008, traditional and non-traditional programs of Scouting, Scoutreach, STEMReach and Career Awareness Exploring have experienced continued growth. Garrett has enjoyed a career as a professional Scouter for 24 years; entering the profession in Memphis, TN, serving in Oklahoma City, and before moving to central Georgia as Chief Operating Officer of the Chickasaw Council in Memphis.  A community advocate, Garrett has served numerous civic, professional, and cultural organizations during his career.

Every day the staff and volunteers of the Central Georgia Council work with a passion to deliver the promise of Scouting to every family that has a desire to join our program. The volunteers are the strength of our organization, and the council works from the principle of being volunteer driven and professionally guided.

Garrett grew up in Lakeland, FL and is a graduate of LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, TN. He and his wife Rene’ are the proud parents of daughter Kylar.
